The film plays on the ills of Romanian society (corruption, homophobia, the weight of religion and conservatism) and attempts to raise awareness of them. More clever than aesthetic or profound, the screenplay seeks to play up its initial situation to show that all parts of society are concerned, and that the initially well-meaning individual can very quickly change his behavior to suit his own interests. A message film, rather effective in itself, but with a demonstrative and direct style, and a very ordinary form (stage direction, image).
